I'm a public relations professional and teaching professor. I practice, and teach, values-based public relations because if you can't live your values in your work, are you really in the right job?

As a nationally-Accredited public relations professional, I worked in corporate public relations for 10 years. I have spent the last 22 years as a full-time faculty member in the public relations degree program at Iowa State University (Go Cyclones!). While teaching, I've been able to provide public relations services to clients on a limited basis. Those experiences make me a better teacher, and teaching has definitely made me a better public relations professional. When you have to explain to students, in great detail, exactly why you're doing what you're doing ... you are forced to do your work really well.
